大谷商会は、産業機械・食品・花卉を取り扱う商社です。優れた商品とスピーディなサービスの提供で、設立以来お客様から信頼を頂くべく努力を積み重ねて参りました。その結果、多くの皆様より多大なご支援を賜り健全な成長を遂げ今日に至っています。今後も企業と社会が直面している様々な課題に対し、努力とチャレンジ精神をもって挑みたいと思います。 さて、世界の多くの国々では技術の進歩と国際貿易によってこれまでにないほど物質的には裕福になっています。しかしながら同時に我々人間社会は限りある資源を無頓着に使うなどの結果、昨今の環境問題を引き起こしているというのも現状であります。これまでのように企業・社会とも単純な成長目標を追及するだけではなく、一時的にはマイナスを招くことになるかもしれませんが「環境破壊をしない」・「環境を守る」というキーワードにももっと重点を置かなくてはなりません。 私どもはこの「環境破壊をしない」・「環境を守る」というキーワードから新たな需要の創造が可能と捉えています。大谷商会は、社会情勢の変化を受け入れ 環境に配慮し 持続可能な経済成長に貢献すべく邁進してまいります。
As a family-based trading company with activities in the field of
industrial products, food, and flowers, our primary concern is
providing superior products as well as speedy and reliable service
to our customers so as to become their preferred supplier. While we
are proud of having achieved substantial growth by following this
path, we also see, with apprehension and expectation, the challenges
ahead of us and our society. Technological progress and
international trade have brought unprecedented material wealth to
the world. At the same time, human activities have created an
environment that is increasingly becoming unstable. Our hybris and
indifference towards nature often becomes apparent in the way we
manage scarce resources and make purchase decisions at the consumer
level. A clear shift of priorities away from pure growth targets
towards targets centered around the word ‘sustainability’ will be,
in the years to come, the major challenge to companies and society
at large. This shift will create disruptions in some industries and
create new demand in others. Although being a small player, we want
to be actively involved in this process of transition and
rethinking, and contribute to environment-friendly and sustainable
growth.
